LeadCatcher is committed to complying with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada's federal private sector privacy law. PIPEDA sets out rules for how businesses must handle personal information in the course of commercial activity. We take these obligations seriously and have structured our data practices accordingly.
PIPEDA is based on 10 fair information principles. Here is how LeadCatcher addresses each one:
LeadCatcher is responsible for all personal information under our control. We have designated a privacy officer responsible for our compliance with PIPEDA. For privacy concerns, contact us at hello@leadcatcher.ca.
We identify the purposes for collecting personal information before or at the time of collection. Personal information collected through our platform is used to deliver our automated lead capture and SMS response services on behalf of our business clients.
We obtain meaningful consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. For end customers who contact a business using LeadCatcher, the act of initiating contact (calling or texting) constitutes implied consent to receive a response. Individuals may withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any automated message.
We collect only the personal information necessary for the identified purposes. We do not collect excessive or irrelevant information beyond what is needed to qualify a lead and deliver a booking link on behalf of our clients.
Personal information is used only for the purposes for which it was collected. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. Data is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill service obligations, typically no more than 12 months for conversation logs.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, complete, and up to date. Clients are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their own business information provided to LeadCatcher.
We use appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. These measures are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
We make our privacy practices readily available to individuals. This policy, along with our Privacy Policy and CASL Compliance page, is publicly accessible on our website.
Upon written request, individuals may access their personal information held by LeadCatcher, challenge its accuracy, and request corrections. Requests can be made by contacting hello@leadcatcher.ca. We will respond within 30 days.
Individuals may challenge our compliance with PIPEDA by contacting our privacy officer at hello@leadcatcher.ca. If a complaint cannot be resolved internally, individuals may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca.
For any questions or concerns regarding this PIPEDA Policy or our data practices, please contact us at hello@leadcatcher.ca. We are based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
